Boost the security of your property with Tempo post extensions for barbed wire, engineered to deter unauthorized access. These extensions are ideal for sensitive or high-security sites, offering an effective way to upgrade your fencing with a robust defensive system.
Enhanced Security
Tempo extensions support the installation of three rows of barbed wire, using twisted wires with four-point barbs spaced every 4 inches. The Class A galvanized hard steel wire provides excellent tensile strength, ensuring long-term reliability. Other finishes are also available, including standard Class B galvanized or zinc-aluminum coatings.
Easy Installation and Modular Design
Tempo extensions are simple to install on existing fences thanks to their modular system. Each kit includes a base and one or two arms, depending on whether you need a single or double configuration. Installation requires a few additional accessories (tension wires, braces, clips, etc.) for a complete setup.
Compatibility and Versatility
These extensions are compatible with both Tempo and Tempo Clips posts. They can also be used with 6/5/6 mesh panels or 17-inch high profiled panels, allowing you to increase fence height without altering the main structure. For added stability, we recommend doubling the posts at corners.

Fence toppers mainly differ in their design: a single-arm topper features one arm angled at 45° either outward or inward, while a double-arm topper forms a Y-shape with two arms. Compatibility depends on the type of post (such as Tempo, Bekafix, T35x35, or round posts). They can be fitted with different security elements like barbed wire, concertina wire, or rigid panels.
To make a fence overhang, you'll need to cut a steel profile—either T-section or tubular—then bend it to the desired angle, usually 45°. Drill holes for mounting and for wire passage. The piece should then be galvanized and powder-coated to ensure durability. This process requires specialized industrial tools, so purchasing a pre-made overhang is often more cost-effective.
To install a barbed wire arm on a Tempo post, simply slot it directly onto the top of the post after removing the cap. Secure the arm using the supplied bolts, then attach barbed wire or concertina wire to the designated attachment points.
Tempo overhangs are compatible only with Tempo and Tempo Clips posts. They're designed to fit seamlessly with the modular system of this post range, making installation straightforward thanks to a base specifically made for these models.
Barbed wire arms require minimal maintenance due to their anti-corrosion coating. Periodically check that all bolts are secure and tighten them if needed. Inspect the coating for any damage and remove surface rust with a wire brush before applying a suitable touch-up paint to help protect against the elements.
When installing barbed wire arms, you must follow local regulations. Check with your city or county office to confirm if your local zoning or planning rules allow this type of fencing. If you plan to install barbed wire arms along public roads, proper signage is required, and the arms should always face inward toward your property to prevent any risk to pedestrians.
