If you agree on the dividing line, install your fence with a slight setback on your side. This provides a useful safety margin. <\/p>\n
Once the land issue is settled, the administrative requirements remain. Before purchasing your posts, consult the Local Urban Plan (PLU) at the planning department. <\/p>\n
You cannot do as you please. The municipality may impose a maximum height, prohibit certain materials (such as solid concrete panels), or require specific colors. In the vast majority of cases, you will need to file a prior declaration of works. Installing first and asking for forgiveness later rarely works: a non-compliant fence will have to be removed, particularly near protected areas or historic monuments. <\/p>\n
