At Districlos, we have been selling mesh fencing, fences and gates for 11 years<\/strong>, so we have been able to observe many fluctuations<\/strong> affecting our business and your property.<\/p>\n

The products we offer are made of steel<\/strong><\/a>, aluminium and PVC<\/strong>. Most of them are produced in Europe<\/strong> and France<\/strong> by partners we carefully select for their products, but also for their operations<\/strong>, which must be aligned with our environmental and ethical values.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today, the issue of raw materials<\/strong> is part of everyday news, on our social networks and in our discussions, so we wanted to explain, with full transparency, the impacts we are facing.<\/p>\n

Raw materials are the foundation of the global economy<\/strong>, because they are at the origin of many products that are made. They are therefore essential<\/strong> to any development. <\/p>\n

Oil and <\/strong>steel<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>are at the core of our business. Oil is the most widely used and most in-demand resource worldwide, due to the diversity of its uses. Steel, for its part, is made from an iron<\/strong> and carbon<\/strong> alloy. <\/p>\n

Raw material prices saw an increase<\/strong> following the 2020 health crisis, an increase that continued into 2022. Demand after the Covid shock rose faster<\/strong> than the production capacity<\/strong> could restart. The price increase is therefore explained by an imbalance between supply and demand<\/strong><\/a>. Today, this imbalance is widening again because raw material sources are concentrated in a small number of countries, some of which are involved in conflicts<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Beyond the usual requirements linked to our business, we must therefore mobilise to:<\/p>\n

  • Maintain our stock levels<\/strong> to meet your needs despite the raw material shortage<\/li>\n
  • Guarantee delivery times<\/strong> that match your consumption habits<\/li>\n
  • Offer the best prices<\/strong> in a strained economic context (rising raw material and transport costs)<\/li>\n
  • Ensure a reasonably priced delivery service<\/strong> despite the rise in fuel costs<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Be able to provide quotes<\/strong> while guaranteeing the prices offered, even as increases continue abruptly and without notice<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Continue to innovate by optimising our products<\/strong> and offering you new ones that are ever closer to your expectations<\/li>\n
  • Continue our efforts to select our partners so we can offer you products from responsible production and purchasing<\/strong><\/li>\n

    We remain just as committed<\/strong> and motivated<\/strong>, even though it is becoming increasingly difficult.<\/p>\n

    We are aware that you face the same issues every day in your business or at home. However, we still wanted to speak with you transparently about this delicate period we have to get through. <\/p>\n

  • Russia<\/strong> and Ukraine<\/strong> are two major producers of ore<\/strong> and raw materials<\/strong>. Between them, more than 80 million tonnes of steel<\/strong> were produced in 2021<\/strong>. Russia is the world\u2019s leading producer of nickel and the second-largest of aluminium<\/strong>. A significant share of these tonnages is exported to Europe. For aluminium, 80% of France\u2019s alumina needs come from Russia.<\/strong> <\/li>\n
  • After an initial increase due to the health crisis in November 2020, when the average price rose to \u20ac700\/t<\/strong>, steel is now at \u20ac1,700\/t<\/strong>, an increase of 142% over fifteen months!<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • In March 2022, the price of oil<\/strong> recorded increases of 40 to 50%<\/strong> compared with 2021 averages<\/li>\n
  • The materials crisis caused the prices of certain products to soar between December 2020 and December 2021, such as those made of steel (+73.1%)<\/strong>, PVC (+69.9%)<\/strong>, aluminium (+41.3%)<\/strong> and copper (+33.5%)<\/strong>, according to INSEE.<\/li>\n
  • Some countries will be very heavily impacted in their gas<\/strong> supplies: 50% of Germany\u2019s needs, 100% of Austria\u2019s needs, and overall 40% of Europe\u2019s needs are supplied by Russia.<\/strong><\/li>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
